The other different types of industries associated with IT are computer hardware and software, semiconductors, internet, etc. IT has influenced every aspect of our lives and culture. So Information Technology (IT) engineering methodology is an architectural approach to planning, analyzing, designing, and implementing applications within an enterprise. Mainly the IT engineers use commercial products to solve problems. They enable an enterprise to improve the management of the resources, capital, people & information system of the enterprise. SALARY:-

As the fresher gets not a very good package in any field but then also the average starting monthly salary of IT engineering graduates in India ranges between Rs. 20,000 – Rs.25,000. The salary of an IT graduates increases rapidly as they get more and more experience and can reach upto 10 lakhs per annum.

The modern era is known as the Information Technology era. Thus, for those who have acquired the right qualifications, Information Technology and Management can open a number of doors for them. At the beginning of 2000, NASSCOM (National Association of Software and Services Companies) had made an estimate that India would require 10,00,000  trained software professionals in few years. Candidates can apply for any one of the following sectors in IT:-
        
HARDWARE, which includes the physical elements of computers like manufacture, maintenance and design. People can go for: 
   
i. Manufacture of computers- people can get trained in building computer parts and get a job.
 
ii. Maintenance of computers- here, people have to solve hardware problems arising in computers in other offices and residences.
 
iii. Computer operations- deals with the services, designs and error handling in computer systems.
 
 
SOFTWARE, which includes a set of instructions followed by the computer for performing its tasks. For people involved in the software field, there is an array of jobs for them:
 
i. Software Developers- Their tasks include researching, designing, implementing and testing software.
 
ii. Programmers- A person who writes computer codes and programs.
 
iii. Support Service Providers- They are involved with support of software and provide services.
 
iii. Sales and Marketing- It involves selling of computer systems and marketing to different companies.
 
iv. Consultants and System Analysts- Consultants provide expert guidance to companies and analysts are involved with testing of software programs.
 
v. Webmasters- They are involved with the setting up, configuration and development of websites.
 
vi. Networking- They deal with designing of networks and setting up of connections and network security.
 
vii. Computer Education- People can also deal with teaching the various aspects of computers to young students.
 

 

Eligibility Criteria For Under Graduate Programmes in IT:-

 

1.      B.Tech:- The basic eligibility criteria for entering into B.E/B.TECH  course in IT Engineering is to pass the 10+2 or equivalent examination successfully with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The course is of 4 years duration. The candidates can get admission in a good and renowned institute of India by giving an enterance exam like IIT, AIEEE, UPTU, WBJEE etc. But the candidate should score good marks in the enterance exam of the above mentioned exams.

2.      B.SC:- Candidates should have secured an aggregate of 60% and above in their 10+2 examination or equivalent to be eligible for applying for B.Sc degree. For SC/ST Candidates it will be 50%. The candidate should have the knowledge of computer’s languages for IT courses.
